The text I received this morning. 🥹 This made me smile. Mindfulness, movement, feeling good in your skin should never ask us to be perfect, to be who we are not. When we find a space that we feel seen and where our progress and lives genuinely matter to those around us our nervous system feels safe. We learn something so valuable in a nurturing community. We can be motivated in a gentle caring compassionate way, we can also be held when life has thrown some curve balls at us. 🤰🏻New Class Alert 🤰🏻Prenatal Yoga every Sunday at 8:00am. This class covers so much. Yes you will learn to exercise during pregnancy safely, yes it will help you with those aches and pains common as your body grows and changes to make room for your growing baby . Yes we will talk about baby positions, breath for labour and all the birth prep jazz. But that is not what makes this class unique. We use the beautiful structure of the yoga class to begin to practice the real juice of Yoga. We begin to observe what are our attachments, our patterns, what are our beliefs around what it means to be a good mamma. We learn to use our breath, and we learn to sit in discomfort. If pregnancy and motherhood has taught me anything it’s that sometimes we plan and try to control and life or baby has something else in mind for us. Prenatal Yoga teaches us how to use our breath and engage our muscles and release our pelvic floor AND it teaches us how to soften our hearts, how to ask for help and how to think about our boundaries. I love teaching this class. I hope to see you on the mat and to walk alongside you during your blooming and becoming. 💛Tal 💛

Yifat Shirben is the founder of Sound Journey, a space for experiential sound healing, meditation and nervous system restoration. Known for her grounded approach to vibrational therapies, she creates events that are equal parts science, presence and magic.

Sim’s first memories of yoga are being “babysat” by swamis at the local Ashram and going to the classes her mother taught on school holidays. Over 25 years Sim has found Tapas in the firm of consistently returning to the mat, her way to find balance off the mat inspired by “Do your practice and all is coming” from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

I’m back from Italy, I’m so grateful, my heart feels full, and I am reminded yet again how lucky I am to be alive. These last few weeks I have stepped out of my role of being the “teacher” both as Tal the “mamma teacher” trying to impart lessons and wisdom to my kiddos and the Yoga teacher, caring so deeply for each single human being I have the privilege to share Yoga with. I happily and eagerly stepped into being the student. I must say I have cherished every single moment of it. I have come back so inspired. Here are a few things I learned and can’t wait to share with you in the next months. ✨Everything is energy, and oh boy we need to take the time to notice what is happening in our incredible system. The body, mind and spirit are always communicating with us, often we just ain’t listening. ✨We are responsible for our own happiness and joy. ✨Kitten ( it will change your down dog and so many other standing poses- thanks @anniecarpentersmartflow ) ✨The beautiful practice of Shamata or Calm or Tranquil Abiding. We can get so fancy these days with all our practices, but peeling it back to this was so simple, so accessible. This technique develops our power of attention and bring our coarse and subtle thoughts to a restful state. ✨Hatha Yoga- wow! I met the incredible @beatrice_iulini and she opened up a litttle window in my heart I didn’t know was closed. I felt so inspired and excited to learn from this woman and all the practices were all so simple, just beautiful ways to increase the Prana and vitality in our systems. Yoga somewhere along the path got so fancy, it doesn’t need to be. Simple works well. She reminded me of this. ✨✨Friendship and nourishing deep conversation is everything, it is the medicine for the soul. ✨✨Nature and walking is underrated ✨✨Europeans are very tall, and gorgeous 😉

Embracing La Dolce Fernet: The Sweetness of Doing Nothing.

Ciao, friends! Here I am at the beautiful @mandali retreat . My senses are completely alive, surrounded by autumnal leaves, crisp cold sunny days and lots of time to just be. It got me thinking about how our lives are so often on autopilot we rush through life, we find it hard to slow down, we miss the little things. Travel opens us up, revealing beauty in ways our daily rushed lives don’t allow us to do. In Italy, I find the joy of “La Dolce Fernet”—the sweetness of doing nothing—amidst breathtaking views and delicious flavors.

Through simple moments of relaxation, we reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. Just like in yoga, it’s about being present and savoring life’s little pleasures.

Let’s take a moment to taste, see, and truly *be* in the world—because the magic is always there, waiting to be discovered. My Asana is so lucky to have the wonderful Carol from @myyogaessence for her Free Your Fascia workshop. Join Carol for a 2-Hours ‘Free Your Fascia’ workshop to unwind all the stress and tension for a deep nourishing self-care afternoon. This workshop is for new and seasonal yogis to learn to give yourself a myofascial release to target the connective tissues (fascia) that connect the whole body from head to toe. Using specific My Yoga Essence therapy balls designed to roll and restore the major trigger points to stimulate fluids in the front, back, and side lines of the body that are common in holding tension and stress.

When the body holds tension and stress, it creates dryness, tightness and blocks in the fascia and the nerves that underlies it, which hinders the flow of energy and circulation. Myofascial Release helps to hydrate the fascial tissue, creating freedom in the range of motion, eliminate pain, reduce the risk of injuries and assists in recovery. In addition, Myofascial Release promotes circulation, influence sensory nerves and increase energy flow.

After years of heartfelt dedication, Asnat Meretz has decided to pursue her passion for Psychotherapy and focus fully on this. She has decided it is time for a new adventure.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Asnat for her vision, care, and the beautiful space she cultivated. Her work has laid a strong foundation, and we honor all she’s contributed to our community.

Tal Rafel is thrilled to step into this role as new owner of My Asana and continue nurturing the studio’s spirit.

Kids Yoga- so many reasons I could give you that this is fantastic! I will leave you with just 3. 1. It is basically cheap Occupational Therapy: yes we work on crossing midline, proprioception, gross and fine motor skills, interoception, core strength, building awareness, and noticing emotions. 2. We learn emotional regulation skills; the world is crazy and life will give us ups and downs, in Yoga we learn to be the eye of the storm, not a bad skill to have in this topsy turvy world if you ask me. 3.
